Slovakia international and Ruzomberok forward Tomas Oravec has finally agreed on a contract with Czech Viktoria Zizkov. Oravec signed for the second team in the first Czech league for one year starting on January 21, 2002. The forward who had four appearances in the national team left to Prague on Tuesday where he put pen to paper before the team starting training.

”After the unsuccessful negotiations last week, Zizkov officials were interested in another meeting”, tells Tomas Oravec SITA. “We then arrived at a compromise and both sides are happy now. Viktoria´s offer was serious and the only one I was thinking about. The conditions for the players such as training grounds, equipment and the standard of medical care are here are at a higher level in comparison to Ruzomberok. My main goal is to become a regular player in Zizkov´s squad."

The details of the contract have been negotiated by Oravec´s new club officials and his licensed agent Jozef Tokos. “All sides are satisfied with the contract I think. In comparison to last week, all sides have been willing to compromise so there was nothing in our way. It is important for Tomas to help the team win the league or ending up in the table high enough to guarantee a Champions League spot for next year”, said Jozef Tokos.

A part of Oravec´s new contract is also a clause which was more or less the reason why we didn´t reach an agreement last week. The Slovakia international demanded a clause in his contract saying that he is allowed to transfer to another club before the expiration of this contract as long as the interested team would pay the in the contract stated amount of money. Oravec´s contract involving this clause has been confirmed by Viktoria Zizkov manager Ivan Hornik.

The 21 years old forward who is with 9 goals the second best scorer in the Slovak league in the past two months will become the second Slovak football player who signed a contract with the team from Prague. The first player is defender Maros Klimpl who already signed a four year contract last week. Zizkov squad is leaving to a training camp to Portugal for a week this Thursday where they will play three friendly games.
