Yes for Tokoš and Židovský, and after revision, Lednický too

Yesterday an interesting and especially important action for our football took place at the Slovak Football Association. There are many more people who would like to profit from Slovak football players transfers, than the transferable players themselves, so yesterday our managing body took an important step against illegal ‘black marketing’. More information about the whole action is provided by secretary general of SFA Mikuláš Tarči.

“On Wednesday the first exams to obtain SFA manager licenses took place. FIFA decided a year ago, that from the 1st of March, with the exams coming into force after 1st of September 2001, it would deliver the competence to grant football agents licenses to national associations. In practice it means that everybody who successfully passes the exams will obtain the license to be a player’s agent from the Slovak Football Association.”

Interesting opportunity that has probably been attractive.

“After this announcement, nineteen applicants submitted applications, but only six provided all the required materials, and only four of them actually applied to take the exams. Out of these, Milan Valent was disqualified for not meeting administrative and financial requirements and he did not protest against this decision, leaving only three candidates Jozef Tokoš, Peter Židovský and Milan Lednický who got to the final stage.

Were the rest of candidates discouraged by the difficulty of exams?

“Probably. Fifteen of the FIFA questions had to be answered in the four official languages of world football federation – English, French, German and Spanish – and five, set by our own association, in Slovak, of course. But 5 000 Swiss francs also had to be deposited on the account of SFA as a prerequisite for taking the exams.”

How successful were the three mentioned candidates?

Jozef Tokoš, whose answers were absolutely correct, was the best. The difficult criteria were also well met by Peter Židovský. Milan Lednický did not meet the test standards sufficiently, but after revision and depositing other 2500 Swiss francs he obtained the license, too. The date for the next exams is March next year.”

From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. we observed the situation at the SFA and we can say that it was not easy to succeed in this difficult exam. However, today’s football’s „ride“ is not easy in any direction.
