Young Slovak footballer Jakub Sylvestr is on trial this week with the English club Crystal Palace. The attacking player of Slovan Bratislava, who celebrated his 17th birthday on Thursday, February 2, flew to London on Sunday and is expected to return home on Friday.
“Jakub mostly trains with the U18 players. He likes it in England, and on Tuesday he even watched the Crystal Palace first team match against Preston in the FA Cup. I think his transfer abroad is on the right track. The head scout of Crystal Palace had already observed him in Slovakia and was very satisfied with his performances. Besides Sylvestr, the club is only testing one other young defensive player from Ghana. For Jakub, it would be a suitable destination. Crystal Palace is not in the habit of making big signings; they rely on their own academy players, so the conditions for developing talents are very good,” said SFZ-licensed agent Jozef Tokos, who represents the Slovak U17 international.
