On Thursday, FC Nitra’s sports manager Ivan Ondruška completed the administrative formalities with the Slovak Football Association (SFZ) to strengthen the squad with two players who most recently played for Spartak Trnava.

“We have released Pavol Kopačka on loan until the end of the season and Miroslav Barčík until the end of this year,” confirmed Peter Bahula, representative of the Trnava club owners. On Thursday, Kopačka packed his things in the locker room and said goodbye to his teammates. “I will miss the Trnava environment, the fans, and my teammates. During the week, officials from Nitra contacted me, and after some hesitation, I finally agreed. I have a new challenge ahead and I want to be useful for Nitra,” said Kopačka, who appeared for Trnava in the autumn league match against Zlaté Moravce and in the UEFA Cup return match against Georgia Tbilisi. After the season, Kopačka’s loan at Nitra will end, and his contract with Trnava will also expire.

“After Nitra’s defeat against Spartak, representatives from Zobor contacted my agent Jozef Tokos. We entered into negotiations and reached a fair agreement,” said Barčík, who also had offers from Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Cyprus. “The transfer window was nearing its end, I didn’t have anything finalized, and I wanted to start full training with the team. I’m coming for four months to help the team.”
