English Premier League side Stoke City reportedly wants to part ways with its first-choice goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen, with Jan Mucha Jr. of Legia Warsaw potentially serving as his replacement.
Although recent reports about a trial of Slovak international goalkeeper Jan Mucha Jr., currently with Polish top-flight club Legia Warsaw, at English giants Arsenal were described by his agent Jozef Tokos as complete fabrication, the 27-year-old shot-stopper from Bela nad Cirochou could still end up on the British Isles. According to the Polish website www.sportowefakty.pl another Premier League participant in the 2009/2010 season, Stoke City, is interested in the services of the former goalkeeper of Inter Bratislava, Humenne, and MSK Zilina. The management of “The Potters” is said to be looking to offload their current number one between the posts, Danish international Thomas Sorensen.
The best goalkeeper of the Polish Orange Ekstraklasa is also highly valued by his current employer, who has offered him a new contract with an annual salary of 350,000 euros. “Maybe 30 European clubs would like to have Janko Mucha. At the moment I can’t specify anything. Everything should be clearer by January 14, when Legia begins its winter preparation for the spring part of the league,” football agent Jozef Tokos told the SITA agency.
