Przeglad Sportowy: Glasgow Rangers enter the race for Mucha
Although football agent Jozef Tokos stated to the SITA agency on Wednesday that Legia Warsaw goalkeeper Jan Mucha Jr. has not gone anywhere yet and has not signed a contract with a new club, Polish media claim the opposite. According to the portal www.tvn24.pl, the 27-year-old Slovak international goalkeeper should already be in the British Isles, with as many as five Premier League clubs allegedly in the running – Stoke City, Wigan Athletic, AFC Sunderland, FC Portsmouth, and Tottenham Hotspur. Renowned sports daily Przeglad Sportowy has come up with another alternative – Mucha’s move to the Scottish champions Glasgow Rangers is said to be taking shape.
The best goalkeeper of the Polish Orange Ekstraklasa and, from the Slovak perspective, a hero of the historic 2010 World Cup qualification in South Africa, is highly valued by his current employer, who has offered him a new contract with an annual salary of 350,000 euros. “Maybe 30 European clubs would like to have Janko Mucha. At the moment I can’t specify anything. Everything should be clearer by January 14, when Legia begins its winter preparation for the spring part of the league,” football agent Jozef Tokos told SITA. According to Polish media, neither the goalkeeper nor his agent want to reveal anything until the matter is fully clarified. “Such an offer comes once in a lifetime, and it would be a sin not to take it,” Jan Mucha Jr. added mysteriously for the Polish media.
