The best goalkeeper of the Ekstraklasa, Jan Mucha, flew to the United Kingdom two days ago to negotiate the terms of a new contract. However, apart from the Slovak himself, his agent Jozef Tokos, Legia sporting director Miroslaw Trzeciak, and coach Jan Urban, no one really knows which club’s officials “Muszkin” spoke with.
Transfer negotiations have rarely been kept so secret. This has fueled press speculation and reports from so-called reliable sources. Among the clubs reportedly interested in Mucha were Tottenham, Stoke City, and Glasgow Rangers. Acting as detectives ourselves, we have learned that the Slovak national team goalkeeper held secret talks with Arsenal. However, those negotiations did not go as Mucha and his agent had hoped and did not result in a contract offer. The goalkeeper then went to Liverpool to negotiate with Everton. The outcome of these talks remains confidential for now.
It will soon become clear what the result of Jan Mucha’s British negotiations will be—whether the Slovak will stay at Legia or move to a prominent club, and whether Legia will lose out or possibly benefit from the transfer.
