Redknapp reportedly offers €2.5 million for Mucha

According to the website www.clubcall.com, Tottenham Hotspur coach Harry Redknapp is reportedly willing to offer €2.5 million for Jan Mucha Jr.

Speculation about the possible new club of Slovak national team goalkeeper Jan Mucha Jr. continues. Two English Premier League sides are mentioned most often – Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City. According to  www.clubcall.com, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is ready to pay €2.5 million for the Legia Warsaw goalkeeper. In London, Mucha would compete for the number one spot with Brazilian Heurelho Gomes. Tottenham’s second-choice goalkeeper, Italian Carlo Cudicini, is injured and out for the rest of the season.

The best goalkeeper of Poland’s Ekstraklasa is said to be in Great Britain together with his agent Jozef Tokos, negotiating with potential suitors. This claim is supported by the fact that one of the heroes of Slovakia’s historic qualification for the 2010 World Cup missed Legia Warsaw’s opening training session after the winter break last Thursday.

“I cannot confirm that Jan Mucha is in England on trials. He asked me for two days off and I agreed. I cannot tell you more. By Saturday everything should be clearer,” Polish media quoted Legia sporting director Miroslaw Trzeciak. The 27-year-old goalkeeper from Bela nad Cirochou had already said back in December that the Premier League is his dream competition and he would prefer to move to the British Isles. However, several Polish outlets have reported that Mucha will stay with Legia until the end of the 2009/2010 season and only move to a new club in the summer. Everything, though, suggests that Mucha is already looking for his next destination in advance.
