Mucha has a contract, but the club remains secret
Zdroj: Economic Daily, Lubomir MacekSlovakia’s national team goalkeeper Ján Mucha has signed a three-year contract with a new club, though by agreement among the parties involved, the club’s name remains undisclosed. Clubs from the English Premier League showed intense interest in Mucha, but he also received offers from other countries.
Last Friday, HN reported that Mucha was in talks with Everton. “I can’t give you the details, but it’s true. Mucha signed a three-year contract with a new club; however, at the request of the new club, I cannot disclose its name or even the country where our goalkeeper will play. It was an unusual request,” said his agent Jozef Tokos.
He must remain silent for now
Mucha himself confirmed that he will stay with his current club, Legia Warsaw, for the spring and will join the new club in the summer. “I can say that today, at our training camp in Malaga, I signed a three-year contract after passing medical tests. It’s not that I don’t want to reveal it, but the club doesn’t want its name published, and I respect that,” said the Slovak international, who helped Slovakia qualify for the World Cup in South Africa with strong performances. He is mainly happy that the transfer is now finalized. “I can confirm that I will still be playing in Poland this spring. I’m glad I can now focus solely on football,” Mucha added.
Multiple clubs showed interest
Several European clubs showed strong interest in the Slovak goalkeeper. Mucha’s agent Jozef Tokos collaborated on the transfer with colleague Karol Csonto, who has excellent contacts in the UK and arranged Martin krtel’s move to Liverpool. England appeared to be the likely destination, with clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Portsmouth, and Stoke City expressing interest. In recent days, Turkish side Trabzonspor also reportedly showed strong interest, with their head coach Senol Günes pursuing the 27-year-old goalkeeper.
