The biggest Slovak football transfer scoop of the year. Our national team goalkeeper Ján Mucha (27) will become a player of English club Everton from July 1, 2010.

Our first-choice keeper will remain at Legia Warsaw until the end of his contract (June 30). He will move to the top English club on a free transfer. Everton, ranked just below England’s “big four” (Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool FC), won the race for Mucha over another English team, Wigan, and Turkish club Trabzonspor. The offer from the country of the crescent was financially better than the one from the Isles, but everything else favored the English club.

Negotiations in Spain
According to our information, the final details of the contract were completed yesterday in Spain, specifically in Malaga, where Legia Warsaw is currently on a training camp. Alongside Mucha travelled his agent Jozef Tokos and representatives from Everton. In the morning, the Slovak goalkeeper played a training match in beautiful sunny weather and kept a clean sheet. Later, he underwent a thorough medical examination by the English club’s staff and then signed a three-year contract with Everton, valid from July 1, 2010, to June 30, 2013.
