Slovak national team goalkeeper signs 3-year deal with Goodison Park!

Great news for Slovak football. National team goalkeeper Ján Mucha has a new club from the summer. At the World Cup in South Africa he will definitely not have to worry about where the next steps of his career will lead. Since this was a very delicate matter, the entire transfer was placed under an information embargo. His agent Jozef Tokos confirmed that Mucha signed a three-year contract with a club that did not wish to be named. (...) The player himself expressed maximum satisfaction, but also did not reveal the name of his new employer – although he would probably have liked to shout it out to the whole world. Everton FC. A brand with top-level credit, tradition, and perspective. Fantastic.

The transfer to the Blues of Liverpool was subject to the highest secrecy from the very beginning. Nothing changed even after the contract was signed. That was logical, as Legia Warsaw was left out of the picture. Their compensation will be zero in the summer. Everton, on the other hand, made a very clever move, as they acquired a world-class goalkeeper in his prime as a free player. Since Mucha had an excellent bargaining position, it wasn’t easy to agree on his terms. That is why he first left for the start of winter training with his current club in Malaga. At that point, top English interest was joined by Turkish club Trabzonspor, which thanks to significantly lower taxes probably financially outbid the offer from the Isles. In times of economic crisis, even the biggest clubs are not throwing millions out the window. In England, this trend has been clear in recent months, with the only exception being Sheikh-owned Manchester City.

All of that, however, is now irrelevant. Everton achieved its transfer target. Their strategy worked perfectly. For Ján Mucha, a big dream came true – to get to the cradle of football. “I’m extremely happy to have signed a contract with my new employer. It’s a pity that Legia and my new club agreed not to disclose more details. I’m really glad it’s all been settled. Now I can focus only on football. It’s special that it also happened on my girlfriend’s birthday. That makes my feelings even nicer. This new engagement is definitely a step forward for me,” said the 27-year-old goalkeeper.
