Jozef Tokos (agent of Jan Mucha Jr.): “Since in most European countries the winter transfer window has already closed, Janko will not change clubs.”

Slovak goalkeeper Jan Mucha Jr., after signing a contract with English Premier League club Everton, will remain at his current team, Polish side Legia Warsaw, until the end of this season. “There was a possibility that Janko could go on loan to a club from one of the top European leagues until the end of this campaign. Not long ago, a Serie A team showed interest in his services, but in the end, no concrete offer came from them,” said Jozef Tokos, agent of Jan Mucha, to the SITA news agency.

The number one goalkeeper of the Slovak national team was one of the main architects of coach Vladimir Weiss Sr.’s side reaching the World Cup in South Africa. Legia, currently sitting second in Poland’s top league, are also counting on his quality performances. “Since in most European countries the winter transfer window has already closed, Janko will not change clubs. At Legia, they no longer even think about making money from him by allowing a loan move. Rather, they hope that with his performances he will help them win the league title and qualify for the Champions League preliminaries,” added Jozef Tokos.

Legia Warsaw currently sit second in the 2009/2010 Ekstraklasa, five points behind leaders Wisla Krakow. The first match of the spring part of the season will be played on February 28 away against Cracovia Krakow.
