Yesterday a public debate began on the future of sport in Slovakia

In one of the most crucial questions – the model of financing – the concept paper builds on the project of former minister Eugen Jurzyca’s advisers, but slightly shifts the weight of individual criteria in favor of the domestic popularity of sports. In this key issue of Slovak sport, even if the other questions are no less important, the current project does not differ very much from the ideas of the so-called “Tokos group” – there will probably not be much more money for sport, the state will not be able to finance all sports, especially since in connection with the preparation of the new sports law the concept even proposes to “reconsider the support of the national sports representation in certain disciplines...” (...)
