“Football is the most popular sport and it is played all over the world. And every big sponsor wants to be seen on television, which constantly broadcasts football,” explained Czech sports agent Karel Tejkal to our daily. “The point is that world football is a segment practically untouched by the financial crisis,” football agent Jozef Tokos told the Economic Daily. Moreover, football attracts billionaires from the USA, as well as from Arab countries and Asia, who are buying up big clubs across Europe. “Football reaches such a huge mass of people that for sponsors and also for owners it is good business. It is a luxury market and a great prestige to own a club and put money into it,” added Tokos.
