Former Everton goalkeeper already close to a new engagement

The former number one of the Slovak national team, Jan Mucha, will most likely continue his career in the Russian top division. The 30-year-old participant of the 2010 World Cup is expected, according to our information, to sign a multi-year contract today with Krylia Sovetov Samara after successfully completing medical tests. The former Everton goalkeeper, whose contract expired on June 30 of this year, reportedly underwent the first part of his medical already yesterday. “I cannot confirm anything one hundred percent yet,” said the player’s agent Jozef Tokos.

Krylia Sovetov Samara finished 14th in last season’s Russian Premier League and stayed among the elite only thanks to a successful relegation playoff against Spartak Nalchik. The new league campaign was launched yesterday evening by coach Gadzhiev’s team with a home match against Spartak Moscow. Last season’s first-choice goalkeeper for Samara was Belarus international Sergey Veremko.
