Slovak goalkeeper Ján Mucha has become the newest addition to Russian Premier League club Krylia Sovetov Samara. The former national team first-choice signed a two-year contract yesterday with the team that finished 14th last season in the Russian Premier League. This was confirmed to the Economic Daily by the goalkeeper’s agent, Jozef Tokos.

“Mucha has already completed his medical examination, attended a press conference, done a photoshoot, and even had his first training session,” stated the agent. Remaining in the British Isles had been a priority for Mucha, but no club could offer him a starting role. In Samara, he has a guarantee of regular playing time. “They plan to use him as the first-choice goalkeeper. The Russian league is competitive, and this is a big step forward for him,” added Tokos. Mucha spent the last three seasons at Everton in England.
