Funding for athletes cannot be based on the needs of individuals but on the public interest, says sports analyst Jozef Tokos. “If someone presents a need of 400,000 euros and has no other solution but to leave and represent another country, that is a free decision.” However, according to him, the ski association has long proven that it cannot be a model of a well-managed union. The solution could be a new funding model. This is expected to be introduced by the new Sports Act. The government is scheduled to discuss it in June this year. Jaroslav Barborák will return to the topic in the programme "To the point" after the Radiojournal" broadcast.
