They are drowning in a corruption scandal, yet they earn more than the wolves of Wall Street.
Zdroj: Economic Daily, (vtr)Which is more profitable – being an employee of the International Football Federation (FIFA) or a stockbroker in the business mecca of Wall Street? The first option is correct. According to the latest study by the London-based company Emolument, the average annual salary at FIFA last year was $242,000. That is $50,000 more than traders at the famous stock exchange or in the largest U.S. banks earned.
“It’s beyond comprehension that FIFA employees earn more,” said Emolument co-founder Alice Leguay. FIFA, after all, is a non-profit organization. And the salary comparison within the non-profit sector is even more striking – the average annual wage of non-profit employees did not exceed $66,000.
“They want to have the best people, and that’s why they offer conditions comparable to the private sector,” sports analyst Jozef Tokos told the Economic Daily.
