Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid finished second in La Liga behind Barcelona, fell short of the Champions League final, and failed to reach even the last eight of the domestic cup. Despite this, the “White Ballet” recorded record revenue last season.
According to financial results published on the club’s website, Real’s income reached €578 million — a year-on-year increase of more than five percent. “This confirms that football as a business sector is constantly growing,” Economic Daily sports analyst and football agent Jozef Tokos told the paper.
The largest share of the club’s revenue comes from commercial income — money from sponsors and sales of licensed products. Shirt sales alone bring the club around €90 million a year.
