The TA3 program “Bago,” first aired on May 4, 2017, featured an appearance by sports analyst and lawyer Jozef Tokos, advisor to the Union of Football Professionals.

In the segment, Tokos explained the importance of resolving football-related disputes within the structures set by FIFA:
“Under the rules of the international football federation FIFA, its members—meaning clubs and players—are required to resolve their football-related disputes through federation bodies, such as the dispute resolution chambers, rather than civil courts. Violating this rule may even result in disciplinary sanctions.
But this system is also objectively beneficial, as it allows for specialized arbitrators, their expertise, and faster proceedings. From my own experience, I can cite a case decided by FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber in 2017, where a Slovak club sued a club from Asia. The case was resolved in the Slovak club’s favor in roughly two and a half months, which demonstrates the efficiency of the process.”
