Pastva to Poland

Miroslav Pastva has made a remarkable leap in his football career over the past year. After spending several seasons playing in Slovakia’s second division with Liptovský Mikuláš, he joined the newly forming squad of ViOn Zlaté Moravce-Vráble ahead of last season. There, in the country’s top division, he played 24 matches. Although he didn’t score a goal, he has now completed his first move abroad.

The defensive midfielder, who occasionally filled in as a right-back for ViOn, has signed a one-year contract with Pogoń Siedlce, a club competing in Poland’s second tier. During a brief trial period, he featured in a friendly against Wisła Płock, where he provided an assist.

“Pastva is a hard-working type of midfielder, flexible and able to play in multiple positions. He also serves as an example for players from lower leagues that it’s possible to work your way up and reach an opportunity abroad in a relatively short time. The fact is, even the Polish second division can be financially attractive for our players,”  his agent Jozef Tokos commented on the transfer of the 25-year-old.
