The story about how sport warned the society

Wins and success are the keys

We asked Mr Jozef Tokos, a FIFA licensed players´ agent: „How can the economic crisis influence the Slovak football? "

„The budget of clubs will be decreased, because football is not profitable (in this country). Advertising partners ask what they get for their support. They will consider how much money to spend and on which items. The clubs have to pay more attention to the higher effectiveness of their work, because the decrease of salaries of players and coaches can be realistic. “

„How can the lack of money within the clubs influence transfers of players? “

„The stagnation of transfers will carry on, because the clubs will not be paying each other that much. More loaned players can be foreseen. The smaller budgets of foreign clubs influence the interest in Slovak players. It will be more difficult for them to transfer. The offer will be higher than demands. This will mean smaller transfer fees. “

„Inside the clubs there is a pressure for success and results. It is not that important to work with perspective squad. The teams outside the relegation zone can give chances to young players now. How would you comment on that? “

„This is an ideal opportunity for clubs to work with young players in a more quality way. Young players as well as coaches should not be subjects where the money can be saved, both within the budgets of clubs or in the state budget. Unfortunately, one billion Slovak crowns (in old currency) allocated for sports in the state budget has still not increased...“

„Is there any recipe how football can earn more? “

„The success of the Slovak national team is the key point. It would help everyone. The interest of people and marketing partners would be increased. The players would get better opportunities for foreign transfers. The gained experience would be returned back to the Slovak national team and the chance of the Slovak football for additional success would be increased again. “
