Our goalkeeper will not play or the Slovak national team after the howler with Lithuania.

He made a mistake in the frst World Cup qualifier in Lithuania that cost us the victory. 3 days later Jan Mucha has left the national team. He will not be playing for Slovakia in the near future. He was not practising with the team yesterday. He will miss the next qualifier with Liechtenstein. "I do not want to put the national team head coaches under the pressure because of me. I will do my best to play regularly in the starting line up for my current club," Jan Mucha explains his decision for the official website of the Slovak FA.

Mucha was a hero of Slovak people after the qualification to the World Cup in Africa. He was a leader of that team. He helped the national team to the promotion to South Africa and from the group phase. Then he transferred to the Premier League club Everton FC. The situation has changed. Mucha has been sitting on bench in England for 3 years. He plays rarely in cups against teams from lower divisions. Jan has chosen the harder way. He wanted to make difference in England. He is still waiting for his chance and fighting to be the number one in his club. It was only his decision to leave the national team before the Liechtenstein game,“ says for the Economic Daily the goalkeeper`s agent Jozef Tokos. The national team head coach Michal Hipp says that our goalie will be back in the national team soon. „I am sorry about his decision, but I understand it. I think he has not finished his national team career," Hipp said for the official web site of the Slovak FA.
