Will he be missing in Pasienky as well?

Rumours that something is going wrong between Juraj Czinege and his club Inter started to spread over a week ago, when Czinege did not show up at a match with Trenčín. Some people said he had not felt well. The coach Barmoš waited to see whether his mid-fielder would at least show up at Friday’s pre-match practice. But he did not come and he also did not participate in the registration before the final derby on Tehelné Pole, which was won by Inter without him. Thanks to the goodwill of Czinege’s adviser Jozef Tokoš, we contacted the player yesterday and the interview as follows is a result of our successful attempt.

- Juraj, what is going on, do you really have injury problems?

“Well, I don’t have any injury problems, everything is a little bit different. On Monday, June 3rd, I backed out of my contract with Inter. The reason is simple – the club wasn’t fulfilling all of their responsibilities in the relationship with me.”

- How did you back out of the contract?

- “I submitted them a written notice. Already on March 3rd, I pointed out to Inter that they still owe me something. But as nothing happened within next three months, I didn’t have another choice.”

- There were still two big matches left before your team and you.. “Since the Monday mentioned above, nothing has been binding me to the club anymore. It is true that I would have liked to play one more time. But our relations were by then so disrupted that it was hard for me even to pass by Pasienky.”

- What exactly disrupted the relations between Czinege and Inter?

“I have sent at least five notices stating that the club is not fulfilling its responsibilities in the relation to me, but always to no avail. That’s the reason why I finally decided to leave Pasienky.”

- Not fulfilling responsibilities – which ones?

“The financial ones, of course.”

- One says you were receiving salary and bonuses on regular basis... “Yes, but that’s not all stated in my contract. Pay for additional issues agreed in the contract was missing.”

- Did you negotiate this with the club’s management?

“Five years ago, when signing the contract. It’s about a bonus that each football player negotiates individually. I pointed out my displeasure for the first time at the beginning of March, and I was promised that they would pay their liabilities soon. It has never happened…”

- How do you imagine your future?

“I want a transfer, but I don´t know yet where exactly.”

- Your contract with Inter is valid for another year!

“Not anymore. I backed out of the contract for a serious reason, so I will not show up in Pasienky ever again. I simply don’t have a contract with Inter!"

- Do you consider yourself to be a free football player?

“Of course.”

- Did you discuss your situation with your advisor?

“I did and I am following his advice. However, I am looking for a new place with the help of other managers, as well.”

- Do you expect that Inter will try to prevent you from leaving?

“Yes, I do. Inter’s managers claim that our contract is still valid. However, I was acting in compliance with the contract, so I am convinced that the definite cancellation of the contract is a clear issue from my side.”

- Do you already have a new offer?

“Since the summer break is short, I hope that I will find out as soon as possible.”

So much for the player. The official statement of Inter was given to us by its General Manager, Jozef Barmoš: “We insist on Czinege’s fulfillment of all responsibilities stated in the still valid contract in the relation to the club!”
