Jan Mucha wants to stay in the English Premier League. His priority is to play regularly.

The season 2010/2011 is not the best one for the Slovak national team goalie Jan Mucha. He had only two appearances for Everton FC in the League Cup. He has not played a single game in the Premier League or FA Cup. The American goalie Tim Howard has been the clear no. 1 of the Everton FC in the third consecutive season. The agent of the Slovak goalie Jozef Tokos met the club’s manager David Moyes on Monday to discuss the future of the 28-years old player hailing from the village Bela nad Cirochou.

„Jan is under a valid contract with Everton until 2013 and the club wants him to stay. On the other hand, he wants to play regularly. Mr Moyes confirms that there will be no problems with his leaving if an appropriate club is find. The club is willing to release him if requested so. While a loan is not completely ruled out, a transfer would be the club’s priority,“ the licensed agent Jozef Tokos said for the SITA press agency.

„Jan made a difficult decision one and a half years ago, preferred the Premier League and fight to become the number one of Everton FC to other options.  Since he is a national team goalie, he wants to play regularly. We want to keep him in the Premier League. This is our priority. I never comment on any details at this stage. There is a plenty of time so everyone is happy, “ Jozef Tokos added.

One of the options for the former goalie of Humenne, Inter Bratislava, MSK Zilina and the Polish side Legia Warsaw could be Wigan Athletic. They were interested in Mucha in January 2010 when he signed with Everton. His possible return to Legia Warsaw has also been mentioned. The Slovak national team head coach Mr Vladimir Weiss is to manage the coaching staff in the near future. Legia was interested to sign Mucha for a short term loan in the winter.
