Clubs from the English Premier league spent over 24 billion Slovak Crowns for players` shopping spree this year. The owner of Manchester United is an American businessman Malcolm Glazer and the most famous English club FC Liverpool was taken over by US businessmen as well - George Gillet and Tom Hicks Big business Mainly, because of these successful businessmen and the sale of TV rights as well, Premier League clubs were able to buy players for 712 million euro (almost 24 billion Slovak crowns) before the new season. It is the highest amount of money spent on players among all football competitions in the world. „ In England, there is the biggest pack of money invested to football. Many people with great financial clout invest into the club and they immediately release huge sum of money for football shopping spree after their arrival” said for HN Jiří Rosický - manager and brother of the Arsenal star TomᚠRosický. Interestingly, English clubs have bought players pretty expensively, but they have sold them in the total sum which is only half of what they spent.
