The Slovakian football talent Andrej Rendla, the player of Dukla Banska Bystrica, travelled more than enough recent hours. It was all done very quickly: last Friday he flew to Holland to sign a a 3-year contract with his new club Twente Enschede and undertook medical tests. On Friday in the morning he returned to Vienna, but did not carry on back home to Banska Bystrica. He met his girlfriend Natalia at the Bratislava airport. Then they went for holiday to the Greek island of Rhodos. A couple of days off were recommended also by his new head coach Fred Rutten. After his return, he will has to practise hard in the new club. The former attacker of Dukla Banska Bystrica is to be only 17. He is historically the youngest player (he played his first game only one day after he turned 16) and the youngest goal scorer (May this year) in the Slovakian premier division. Several clubs were interested to sign the big talent. „He has several offers,“ confirmed the players´ agent Jozef Tokoš yesterday. „Apart from the Dutch club, the Italian club Udinese was interested, but they did not, to put it in football language, attack straight the goal, by comparison with the Dutch club. One club from Moscow present an offer that was financially most lucrative.” According to Tokoš, Rendla has made a good decision. „We found an optimal solution, “ he suggests. „In my opinion, the Dutch football and league are ideal for young players, among the European leagues. Even those below 18 can play also for top clubs in Holland.“ The clubs have already agreed. The transfer fee has not been disclosed. Rendla signed a contract on Friday.
