The management of Slovakian football vice-champion FC Artmedia Bratislava engaged an experienced attacker Tomas Oravec. This occurred after Patrik Mraz, Kornel Salata from Puchov and Peter Cvirik from Trnava have arrived. Tomas Oravec (born 3.7.1980) from Boavista Porto signed a contract with Artmedia for two years. “Tomas has finished 5 months loan in Portugal and the club didn’t take his option. The club lost the nomination for the UEFA cup by one rank in overall as placed only the 6th position. Oravec started off three times in the ultimate 6 matches of local leagues’ competition and did not disappoint anyone. After the club fired the head coach Carlos Brito, Jesualdo Ferreira became a new head coach of the team. He has a picture about the other players so he used to give an opportunity to them,” said for SITA newswire licensed agent Jozef Tokos and next carried on about his client: “Tomas as a free agent obtained a very good offer from Artmedia, which he was considering and finally accepted. Petrzalka had an interest in the past, but at that time Oravec made decision to go abroad. The Bratislava club is playing in the first pre-round of UEFA cup and our target is to add Tomas to the name list of Artmedia for UEFA cup till 5th of July. The Slovak FA has already sent the request for an issue of an international transfer certificate to the Portuguese football federation. I believe that all this administration work in Oravec’s case will be done due next week. In the case of the time extension for administration, Oravec will start off in the second pre-match of UEFA cup. Tomas Oravec would join Artmedia on Monday when the team led by the head coach Jozef Adamec will arrive from the condition camp in Austria. This day Tomas will have a birthday. His agent doesn’t fear about rivals as Hartig, Reiter or Halenar and believes that Tomas will start off regularly. “Oravec is a player for the base team line-up and definitely he will confirm his reputation of the great finisher. I believe that he will shoot goals in Artmedia and will be helpful to the team to reach the highest aims,” said Jozef Tokos. Tomas Oravec (countryman from Haniska near Kosice) played in his career for Spoje Kosice (1996-1997), 1. FC Kosice (1997-2000), MSK SCP Ruzomberok (2000-2002), Viktoria Zizkov (2002-2004), Admira Modling (2004-2005), Panionios Athens (2005) and Boavista Porto (2006). Tomas has started off in the A-team of Slovakia already 7times and has scored 3 times.
