When he transferred from MSK Zilina to Italy for 1.5 million euro in January 2018, many fans considered the club Brescia Calcio from Serie B as a low option for him. The creative midfielder Nikolas Špalek chose a step by step approach, similar to  Marek Hamsik in the past. Hamsik transferred to Brescia "only" for 1.5 million euro in  2004 and reached a club of his life Napoli in three years time. (...)

Brescia with their most expensive squad has returned to Serie A after 3 years. The value of a player in average is  1,33 million euro, the overall value of the squad is almost 37,4 million euro, which was undoubtedly the most in Serie B.  „The established Serie B club in Italy can compete without any problems with bottom Serie A clubs. In Italy there is a huge gap between Serie B and Serie C. The salaries in the third league are often around 2000 euro a month,“ Jozef Tokos,   a football intermediary comments. The numbers confirm his opinion. There is only small difference in the squad values between Brescia and a Serie A club Chievo Verona.
