Clubs will earn record amounts from the World Cup in Russia

FIFA  has allocated 209 million for the clubs that sent their football players to their national teams for  the World Cup. (...) 10 years ago FIFA created so called Clubs Benefits Programme. It was introduced before the World Cup in the South Africa in 2010 for the first time. "The World Cup is a very much profitable event. FIFA has created this programme to keep everyone happy, apart from national associations and players also clubs," Jozef Tokos, sports analyst and football intermediary said to the Economic Daily.

(...) "This amount will please bigger clubs with more players from their squads participating in the World Cup as well as smaller clubs that send only one. For instance, DAC Dunajská Streda," Tokos says. Dunajska Streda is the only Slovak club entitled to receive the compensation from FIFA sending their player Eric Davis who is a national team player of Panama.  (...)

The financial package Clubs Benefits Programme has grown enormously for the last 3 World Cups, which is interesting. In South Africa, 40 million USD was distributed. 8 years ago in Brazil 70 million. This year the sum has increased 3 times. "This development proves the high negotiating power of the biggest clubs in the world. They are capable to negotiate it big time," states Tokos. (...) "It can be estimated that these payments will  increase again for the next World Cup due to the fact of ever growing value of clubs and players," adds Tokos.
