Sponsors pay the most to the club in crisis

According to a study of a Spanish company CSM Sport & Entertainment, Manchester United is the world number one in marketing income. They cash in 269 million euro from marketing a year - eight million more than FC Barcelona.

The study of the analytical company located in Madrid confirms that a club does not necessarily have to be successful on the pitch to be attractive for sponsors or fans.  „They have an excellent global business model that is not harmed by sports setbacks. United is a brand. Its strength is confirmed in this kind of analysis,“ Jozef Tokos, sports analyst and football intermediary says. (...) „On the other hand, sponsors income of Realu Madrid are interesting. Even though they won the Champions League three times in a row, they lag behind Manchester and  Barcelona as to sponsorships by almost one hundred million euro,“ says Tokos. 

(...) Apart from the overall sponsoers income, the study focused on respective sectors. The most generous sponsors are from the financial sectors providing clubs from the top five competitions 314 million euro a year.  
There are no surprises in this chart. The financial sectors is followed by automotive, airlines and betting companies. From the viewpoint of marketing, there are no big differences among them," says Tokos. (...) How about in Slovakia? „The financial strength of our clubs is linked to their owner in the majority of cases. Grafobal wih Slovan Bratislava, Tento with Zilina or ZOS Trnava with Spartak Trnava," explains Tokos. (...)
