European clubs will profit the most from the World Cup

While eight years ago clubs got 40 million USD for the World Cup participation, they received as much as 209 million USD this year.

Every club in the world who sends its player / employee to the World Cup, shall be entitled to receive a financial compensation.  40 million USD  were allocated by FIFA for this purpose before the World Cup in the South Africa in 2010, then 70 million USD 4 years ago. The enormous, three times increase of the overall sum within the  Club Benefits Programme was reflected in the sum received by individual clubs. While in 2014 Bayern Munich took the highest amount among the clubs – 1,73 million USD, this year Manchester City profited the most with 5 million USD. „It is expected that these amounts will continue to be increased for the next World Cup, taking into account the ever growing value of the clubs and their football players,“ stated Jozef Tokos, sports analyst and football intermediary.
