Čišovský of Artmedia longs for what he did not achieve in Žilina

One of the best Slovak defenders Marián Čišovský changed the club. He transferred from MŠK Žilina to Artmedia Bratislava – the Slovakian champions. He joined the club led by a coach Vladimir Weiss yesterday at the training camp in Tatranská Lesná. *Your arrival to Artmedia is surprising. How long were they interested in you? I don’t know, but they showed some interest before the beginning of the Champions League. I played UEFA Cup games for Žilina, so I couldn’t have played for Artmedia in the autumn. The transfer talks stopped then. The significant interest in me from Artmedia came in December. * The Greek club PAOK Salonika and Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes were also interested in you, so why did you finally decide to transfer to Bratislava? None from foreign offers was successful, so it is useless to talk about it. A concrete offer was just from Guimaraes. Then came an activity from Artmedia. Firstly, clubs had made an agreement, then me, with the agent Jozef Tokoš agreed with the club. The transfer for two years was completed. *They offered you good conditions in the new club. What else tempts you in Artmedia? Artmedia has the highest goals in the Slovakian league. Žilina had them as well, but Artmedia still plays in the UEFA Cup. That is also very tempting. There is one more important fact that my wife and I have got a permanent accommodation in Bratislava and we are expecting a baby. Last successes of Artmedia, high ambitions of club, these were the most important facts for my decision. *You didn’t win title with Žilina. Will it hopefully come with Artmedia? I believe. I longed for a title very much, but we weren’t successful and I was disappointed. We weren’t successful in the Slovak Cup nor in the UEFA Cup. My goals are the same with Artmedia so I believe I will achieve them. *Žilina is a rival for Artmedia in the title competition. It does not happen very often that a club lets one of the best players go to their rivals. How did they let you go? I was waiting for the opinion the management and owner of Žilina. They announced me that they had made an agreement and I got permission to negotiate. My personal opinion is that only the general manager Karol Belanik didn’t agree with my walk-off. But when they let me go, I suppose, both of sides are content. *You are in a wider squad of the national team. If both, you and Artmedia are successful, your chance to wear the national team jersey and to add something to your 7 caps will increase… This opportunity is possible for sure; the national team coaches will be able to see me. Artmedia plays for Cups, and, moreover, Bratislava counts. I believe that I will be successful to get to the squad of the national team head coach Dusan Galis.
