Oravec will play in Boavista Porto

The Slovak football player Tomas Oravec transferred from Panionios Athens to the Portuguese club Boavista Porto. The member of broad squad of the national team made an agreement with excellent club from Portugal about contract until the end of the season with a two-year option. “The contract was signed already in the evening Thursday straight on the stadium of Boavista. Only on Monday he was introduced officially as a new player,” informed Jozef Tokos, Oravec's agent. According to Tokos, the contract with Boavista is a great opportunity for Oravec. The Portuguese league is one of the best in Europe. Boavista is a club with a great tradition. It played in the Champions League four years ago. They promoted from the group phase then. Although they are seventh in the table now, it's not a secret they would like to get to the UEFA Cup. “After the end of his contract with Panionios, Tomas is waiting for a international transfer certificate. If it comes to Portugal in time, he will be able to play an important league game against Setubal, who is the neighbour of Boavista in the league table,” said Tokos. At the beginning of this season the player hailing from Haniska near the Košice was tested by the Scottish side Dunfermline, after his contract with Admira Wacker of Vienna had terminated. At last he stayed in Panionios, where he met fellow-countrymen Marián Breška and Jozef Gáspár. The head coach of Panionios is Slovak Mr Jozef Bubenko. In the past Oravec played for 1. FC Košice, Ružomberok and Viktoria Žižkov.
