The Slovak football player Jozef Gaspar transfers from Hungarian club Diosgyor to Greek side Panionios Athens. Twenty-eight years old defensive midfielder or central back made an agreement on two–year contract. He will be the fourth Slovak in the current thirteenth club of the first league in the country of European champions, after the head coach Jozef Bubenko and forwards Mario Breska and Tomas Oravec. „Jozef's contract in Diosgyör is about to finish, he will be a free agent from the first of January 2006. He had successfully taken medical test in Athens, then we signed a contract. Jozef will spend holiday at home in Slovakia next and in the new year he can be used by his new employer,“ said Jozef Tokos, for agency SITA, licensed agent, who is representing Gáspár. This contract will be Gaspar´s third contract abroad, after Diosgyör and Japan Vegalta Sendai. In Slovakia, he played for Slovan Bratislava and the local rival Inter, where he was performing under his new coach J. Bubenko. „I am looking forward to operating in Greece, its league has higher quality than Slovakian, or Hungarian for sure, from which I also had some offers. But I wanted to try something new. My first impressions of Panionios are good, although discussions took quite long time. But it is nothing unusual for Greeks,“said J. Gáspár.
