A goal-keeper J. Mucha signed a 2-year contract with a one-year option; on Sunday he could play the Polish first league.

On Thursday the Slovakian goalkeeper Jan Mucha definitely signed with the Polish Legia Warsaw. This 20-year-old goalkeeper signed a 2-year contract with one-year option with the sevenfold Poland-champion. On Thursday he undertook a medical test and trained with his new teammates. In Sunday’s opening match of the Polish first league at the playfield of freshman Arka Gdynia he should be already at the disposal of the head coach Jacek Zielinsky. “It is a big challenge for me to be successful in Legia. This club means for a Pole the same as Slovan means for a Slovak. It has the highest ambitions in the league and it will play the UEFA cup as well.

As I have been informed the standard of the Polish first league is really high, that’s why my main goal is to keep appearing in the basic line up. There are many foreign players and perfect conditions in the club,” said for SITA J. Mucha, who hasn’t been given many opportunities in MSK Zilina after the signing of Miroslav Konig. A rival of Jan Mucha in the Warsaw team is 20-year old Lucasz Fabinsky. They are fighting for the vacant post after Artur Boruc left for Celtic Glasgow. “Jano has a good-class goalkeeping style. He played well already during the training in Austria. Moreover, his arrival could motivate Lucasz to better performance. The rivalry is actually good for both of them,” finds the coach of goalkeepers in Legia, Kryzstof Dowhan. Muchas agent Jozef Tokos disclosed details about the transfer: “A Greek first-league club Kalamarias Salonika was interested in Jan, in the final phase of discussion Legia won. We agreed on the main points of the contract, we still had to wait for the agreement between the clubs. In spite of the fact that Jan’s contract with Zilina has already expired, he has not reached the age of 23 and his ex-club is entitled to a training and development compensation for growing up the player. I think that all three parties can be satisfied.”
