The trial of Miroslav Barcik, a creative right midfielder of MSK (a local sport club) Zilina, in Dunfermline Athletic lasted four days. The Scots were interested in the player as he made a good impression on all representatives of the club during the exam. A present manager of the club David Hay, in the past, a great football player and later a top manager in the Celtic Glasgow, was very interested in Barcik and so an offer came.

But a sum of money offered by a Scottish buyer seems to be a stumbling block. Though a player’s agent Jozef Tokos, who was accompanying a football player from Zilina also in Scotland, did not want to say exact numbers, one could hear from his voice that money is a problem. “We are coming back with a particular offer, but I don’t believe that representatives of Zilina will agree on it. Negotiations will go on, because we expect a higher offer from a partner. In my opinion, in a week we should know whether Barcik strengthens the Scottish club.”

Before the beginning of this season, the Dunfermline club had serious financial problems and there is a question whether Barcik’s coming wouldn’t burden the club’s budget.

Karol Belanik, an executive manager of Zilina, at the moment of our interview did not know details about a contract offered and so he answered in a very diplomatic way: “We will study every offer we get and then we will decide about the proceeding. Barcik is coming back to Zilina right now and we have a discussion arranged. However, according to the last discussion with a player, when he was in Scotland, yet, I got an impression that the club had not met his requirements, so far. There is still enough time to sign a possible transfer and everything must be agreed.”

So Zilina club and Barcik will wait, whether a more interesting offer comes from Dunfermline. It is rumoured that the transfer is not possible under the offered conditions.
