He transferred to the famous Real Madrid for the record 100 million euro and is one of the top stars of the European Championship. We talk about Gareth Bales, the leader of the Welsh national team, the first opponent to play against Slovakia in the football championship. Paradoxically, the value of the 26-year old player born in Cardiff is equal to the value of 23 players of the Slovak national team. To be more concrete, according to the web site transfermarkt.de the value of Bale is 80 million euro while all the Slovak players cost altogether 84,4 million. „One player does not make the team, moreover, this evaluation does not reflect the exact quality of the player and whether he plays well at the moment,“ Jozef Tokos, sports analyst and football intermediary says for the Economic Daily. The most expensive player who is to play in France from tomorrow is Cristiano Ronaldo with the value 110 million euro. (…) „As to the quality of teams, the FIFA ranking is more objective,“ says Jozef Tokos. As to the prospects of the Slovak national team in France, we can be more optimistic when looking at the ranking. In its newest edition, we are 16th out of the European national team, above Wales and Russia, our rivals from the group. „The FIFA ranking can disclose a lot more concerning the performances of the national teams, their quality than the estimated value of players. The FIFA ranking is more relevant and reflcts the reality better than a subjective evaluation of players,“ mentions Tokos. (…) The final tournament of the European Championship is ideal possibility for players to gain more lucrative contract after a transfer or signing an improved contract. Which Slovak players have the biggest chance to be sold at the tournament? (…) According to Tokos, the player must meet the following criteria if he wants to transfer to a far better club after the championship: he must shine at the tournament, be at a good age, ideally up to 25 years and at the moment play in a weaker league. „In case of success, the following four players have the biggest chance for a transfer after the Championship: Robert Mak, Patrik Hrosovsky, Ondrej Duda orVladimir Weiss,“ claims Tokos.
