The majority of the Premier League clubs is owed by foreigners. The last one is Farhad Moshiri, a shareholder of Everton FC.

Moshiri has been a long term business partner of the Rushian entrepreneur Alisher Usmnov. According to the prestigious magazine Forbes, Moshiri is the fifth richest man from coming from Iran with an estimated wealth 1,66 billion euro. „Everton has been one of the few top English clubs without a relevant foreign shareholder. The purchase of shares by Moshiri has finalised a long process of seeking one lasting for more than a decade,“ says for the Economic Daily  Jozef Tokos, a sports analyst and football intermediary. He knows the club as he represents the Slovak goalie Jan Mucha who played for the Liverpool club between 2010 and 2013. „A strong co-share holder is inevitable to maintain the momentum of ambitions and goals of this traditional and one of the oldest English football clubs,“ says Tokos. Apart from reaching sporting goals, the arrival of Moshiri is important in relation to a possible building of a new stadium or a costly reconstruction of the existing stadium Goodison Park.

The increasing incomes and values of English clubs are one of the main reasons why the Premier League clubs has been constantly monitored by foreign business men. The increase of the Premier League business is proved by the profit of the current majority share holder Bill Kenwright who paid for his shares 20 million pounds in 1999 and cashed in ten times more. „It confirms that an ownership of a traditional football club can be a profitable citizen. Mohsiri is the UK citizen for years and fans have responded fairly positively to this business,“ mentioned Jozef Tokos. Everton has been a top English club in the last decade regularly ending up between 5th to 8th place . Moreover, Everton is one of the best earning clubs. Accordingv to the latest chart Football Money League of clubs with highest revenues worked out by Deloitte, Everton is the 18th club in the world. Back in 2009 the income was 91 milllion euro, last year they reached 165 million. In comparison, it is only a few million less than clubs like AC Milan, AS Roma or Atletico Madrid. „Everton is a traditional and respected club. They can grow economically even more in forthcoming years with the support of the foreign owner,“ added Tokos.
