The first general assembly of The Union of football professionals has taken place

The national team player and goalkeeper of Slovana Bratislava Jan Mucha made first steps towards setting up a players´ association with persperctive of FIFPro membership in December last year. Some five months later on Tuesday, April 26, the first general assembly of The Union of football professionals (UFP) took place in Trnava. UFP has already been registered at the Ministry of the Interior as a civic association. Representatives of almost all clubs of the premier league were present. This meeting followed up previous steps carried out Jan Mucha alongside other players. (…) Jan Mucha held a meeting with a secretary general of FIFPro Theo Van Seggelen in Vienna in March. They discussed the overall strategy, philosophy and structure of the organisation. The Dutchman. (…) Elections to the UFP bodies took place in the meeting in the stadium City Arena in Trnava on Tuesday. The players elected Jana Mucha as president, Lubomír Michalik as vice president and Blazej Vascak as treasurer. Robert Vittek, Robert Jez, Peter Klescik and Petr Pavlik are other members of the board. The players elected Viktor Pecovsky, Stefan Pekar and Martin Dobrotka to the supervisory board. Subsequent administrative steps as well as aims of the associatin were discussed. The sports lawyer Jozef Tokos will represent the association externally.
