The former Slovak U21 national team football player, Vladimir Poncak, the defender of the Czech club Ceske Budejovice, left on Wednesday in order to take tests in theleading team of the highest Swedish league Halmstads BK. Jonas Thern, the Halmstad coach, will test 22 years old Poncak in the preparatory matches. Based on his recommendations, the club will decide whether he will be offered to sign a contract. “Vlado will play two friendly matches, one competitive game for the reserve on Thursday and one friendly on Saturday. Halmstads have been already watching Poncak longer, they needed to strengthen the right side by a modern right back and Vlado is fulfilling this requirements. Halmstad is right now on the top of the Swedish league and this offer is a challenge for Vlado,” said Poncak’s representative Jozef Tokos, licensed manager FIFA.

If Poncak passes tests in Sweden, the transfer has to be still adjusted by his Czech employer from Ceske Budejovice, to which he is still bound by the one-year contract.

The player from Presov came in 1999 to Inter Bratislava. From there he transferred to Ceske Budejovice in June 2002 where he signed a three-year contract. In the last season, Poncak played in 26 matches and scored one goal.
