The Bosnian players are ready to achieve a big surprise in the World Cup. Their team reminds Slovak national team in many aspects.

It was a big surprise four years ago. Almost unknown team of Vladimir Weiss fulfilled the dream of the whole Slovakia. Slovakia qualified for the World Cup for the first time in the independence era. The football world recognised a new country.

The Slovaks did not lag behind in the South Africa. They promoted to the best 16 at the expense of the favourite Italians. The Slovak team was one of the biggest surprises at the tournament.

However, four years later Slovakia did not qualify to Brazil. Despite this fact there will be some kind of a Slovak twin playing in Brazil – Bosnia and Herzegovina. „Bosna in the year 2014 reminds of Slovakia in the year 2010.  There are many similarities,“ the football agent Jozef Tokos  said for the Economic Daily.

Let us mention similarities: both football teams are from the country that was a part of other state in the past. They had to work hard to get to the quality football countries. Both teams qualified without any problems. Both teams surprised.

Both teams are from small countries. They both made difference despite the fewer quality players to be called to their national teams in comparison with bigger football countries. Leaders of both teams play abroad since the home clubs are mediocre.

The biggest similarity is the value of the squad - while our (Slovak) team is valued 107 million euro according to the web site  transfermarkt.de, the Bosnian team is valued 114 million euro „Bosnia has a very strong team led by a couple of personalities, just like ours. They for sure are a surprise, but  the promotion to the tournament has been very well deserved, without any doubts. I am glad that we were able to beat them away. That was the only loss of the Bosnian team,“ the Slovak national team hed coach Jan Kozak says for the Economic Daily.
