Following Lubomir Luhovy and Lubomir Moravcik, the Inter defender Jozef Gáspár should become the third Slovak player in Japan. The second league Vegalta Sendai club is interested in the 26 years old central back and there is just one step missing to complete the transfer. “I can confirm that Jozef´s job in Japan is ready. The player has signed a preliminary contract with Vegalta. In the middle of January, he will take a journey to the Far East to undertake medical tests, after which last details should be negotiated and arranged,“ said a SFA (Slovak Football Association) licensed players´ agent Jozef Tokos who represents the player. Gáspár should stay in the club, which participated in Japanese first division in the last season, for one season till the end of the year 2004.

“Jozef´s contract with our club expires in the summer and he expressed the interest to play abroad. We had several negotiations with the Japanese and we approved the player´s transfer. In the summer, we would not earn a crown for Gáspár. We are satisfied with the agreed transfer fee,” said Jozef Bamos, the general director of the Inter club.

Vegalta Sendai is the club without a long history, it was established in the year 1994. During the short living of the club, it managed to promote to the first division. But in the last season, the club finished on the 15th position and relegated to the lower league. In the next season, the Vegalta club again aims to promote.
